Choosing Your Class

Class selection

Ok! So you installed the client and selected the most suitable server for you. Now it is time to select your class. Listen… how to say it… Well, some classes are better than others. There are 3 main categories of classes: melee, archers and Mage.

Best melee classes

Samurai

samurai is without any doubt the strongest close combat class in the game. It hits like a truck, has very powerful rush skills and AOE skills. Samurai allows you to reach harder locations much faster than any other class. The only downside is that playing samurai requires a lot of resources (spirit ores) which reduces netto adena farmed significantly. Also, Samurai needs a lot of skill books and also advanced skill books to be really the “god” of the game. But if you are willing to invest a lot of time and resources, Samurai is the best class for you.

Assassin

Assassin is very PVE focused class. It has very cheap and powerful AOE skills and it is very good for farming. On the other hand, and this really applies to all servers -> Assassin needs advanced equip and enchanted skills to really shine and be cheap on resources. The most important pro tip is: do not start assassin if you don’t have Orfen +2 or Aztacan +2! (Orfen and Aztacan are Boss Jewellery, and from +2 they give you practically unlimited mana.)

Note to other melee classes: Listen, I know u may have deep nostalgia love for Titans, Gladiators and other melee classes. I mean, such classes are still very good, but I did huge amount of tests that costs me a lot of time and if I can really pick the best melee classes for beginners, it is Samurai, Warg and Assassin. The rest of the classes are good, but they are not as beginner friendly as the aforementioned classes.

Warg

My Warg guide says it all. Warg is the most versatile class in the game. It can be very beginner friendly as well as it can be very powerful machine if all skills are activated. Warg is a very balanced class and it can be played with very low resources or with very high resources. It is also very beginner friendly since it has very low requirements for skill books (Literally with one blue book you are good to go!). Warg is also very good in PVP.

Best Ranged classes

Trickster

Trickster was reworked lately and for now it is the best ranged combat class in the game. It has very powerful AOE skills and PVE bonus damage. It is worth mentioning that Trickster needs a lot of spirit ores for daily use!

Other archers

Other archers are good, but they are not as beginner friendly as Trickster and they strictly need advanced so called 4* book.

Best Mage classes

The thing is - you cannot go wrong with any mage these days, but if you really want to be 100% sure you want to have the absolute farm machine beast, check the recommended classes down below.

Dominator/DoomCryer

Right now there is no competition to this mage. He shoots like a machine gun, hits super hard, have very powerful AOE.

Unfortunately, this comes with a cost. Firstly, you need to have skills enchanted at least to +2 (skill enchanting will be covered in an upcoming part of this series). Secondly, this is without any competition the most expensive (in terms of resources like Spirit Ores) mage class to play. Orc mage eats spirit ores like crazy! Also, one big disadvantage are base stats. It is really hard to get 90INT and 50WIT with the Orc Mage.

Rose/Elemental master

I believe Elemental master is still the 2nd best mage class in the game. It hits also very hard, is not limited by skill range and resource-wise is this toon pretty fine in comparison to other mages. Disadvantage is EM needs a lot of spell books to be strong.

My heart anyway goes to Rose class. She does not hit as hard as EM or Orc mage, but in my honest opinion this is the most beginner friendly mage with a special ability to move all around locations on demand - or being completely stationary. The disadvantage is - she has shorter range than any other mage, so in overcrowded locations especially next to orc mages and EMs Rose is slightly behind in terms of PVE.
