Huh! Welcome dear player! You are about to embark on a journey into the world of Lineage 2 Essence. My in-game nickname is Hyue (Sienna server) and I really wish to have this guide when I started a year ago! What is the goal of this guide? To help you understand the game mechanics, provide important tips and tricks, and make your gaming experience more enjoyable. This game can be very overwhelming for new players and bad decisions can lead to frustration and wasted time. So, let’s grab a nice cold drink and let’s set sail into the most comprehensive guide for beginners!

4Game Launcher
The launcher itself is far from what you might expect. It does not just load the game, but also provides you with a lot of information, special offers and other mechanics I want to describe here.
How Many Game Clients Can I Run?
You can run 3 game clients on one PC. It works this way, when you click on “play button”, you can sign off from the current account and sign in to another account. This way you can run 3 game clients on one PC.
4Game store tab
This tab I recommend checking once a week for freebies and special offers. My routine is to check it every Wednesday after the server maintenance.
4Game Calendar
This tab is very important for new players. It shows you all the events that are currently running on the server.
Profile tab (skull icon)
This tab is very important since you can claim special rewards through the code menu item, you can secure your account and much more.
Rest of tabs
Store, Calendar and Profile tabs are the most important ones. You will be visiting them very often.
Do not forget the “code” menu item in the Profile tab. The rest is not that important for new players.

Server selection
All of us were thinking when we started playing Lineage 2 Essence - which server to choose? The short answer is -> you cannot go wrong with any server. But of course, I want you to really understand the difference between the servers so you can pick the one that suits you the best.
Sienna server
Main Currency: Lcoins
Most players: ~2k Combat power (CP)
Server specific items: Loot boxes
Adena drop: 100-5000
Advantages: A player can get very strong in a short time and enjoy the content to its fullest. The server is very active and has a lot of events.
Disadvantages: The server is very competitive and players can be targeted by much stronger players.
Sienna is the oldest server which started in 2019 which does not mean the server is unpopulated. Actually, the opposite!. This server has very serious and heavy wars, very active community and offers the original Lineage 2 Essence experience. Since this server runs for years, for a beginner, it can be a bit hard since locations are adjusted for higher level Combat Power (CP) and the game is more challenging. On the other hand, I started on Sienna a year ago and I found zero issues with it. The server itself has PVE and PVP clans that are very active and helpful. And since I am the author of this guide, let me just promote my clan “TheQuasars” - we are a PVE clan that is very active and helpful. We have a discord server where we daily help each other too! (#Jaroslav4614).
Main currency of Sienna server is Lcoins. For lcoins a player can buy most of the items through World Trade, Events and Lcoins shop. Just for clarification - every event is different and you can get guaranteed reward for certain amount of Lcoins. Or, you can play a game of chance and buy so called “Loot Boxes”. Usually each loot box costs about 100 Lcoins and you can get a random item which varies from a common item to a very rare item.
Eva Server
Main Currency: Adena
Most players: ~1.5k Combat power (CP)
Server specific items: Monthly Pass
Adena drop: 100-1000
Advantages: Anything can be bought for farmed Adena.
Disadvantages: It takes longer to get strong. Limited content in comparison to Sienna server.
Eva server started in 2024. It is actually similar to Sienna in terms of pvp, locations and scaling, but there are significant differences, which makes Eva really unique. Unlike Sienna, Eva server has no loot boxes. You can buy anything for Adena and the game of chance, events and other opportunities are also for Adena. Eva server is categorized as “Special” and it has different events and locations are adjusted for lower level Combat Power (CP).
The server has lcoins too, but that is a secondary currency.
Samurai Server
Main Currency: Adena
Most players: ~1k+ Combat power (CP)
Server specific items: Monthly Pass
Adena drop: 100-1000
Advantages: PVE focused server with 4 hour PVP window. Anything can be bought for farmed Adena.
Disadvantages: It takes longer to get strong. A 4 hour pvp window can be frustrating for some players. Limited content in comparison to Sienna and Eva server. (no dyes for example!)
Samurai server started in 2025 and it is very similar to Eva server in terms of economy and events. But the server is more PVE focused and it has a 4 hour PVP window. This means that for 20 hours of the day, you can play without worrying about being attacked by other players. On the other hand, the 4 hour PVP window can be frustrating since there is no penalization for killing other players.
Conclusion
Sienna server is the most mature server and offers everything the Essence can offer. The economy is very healthy even after years of running and the server is very active. Unfortunately, the gap between the top players and the new players is very big. If you are a new player, you might need a bit of patience catching up with the top players.
Eva and Samurai servers are more beginner friendly and they are more PVE focused. The economy is also very healthy, but the progress usually takes longer. Also worth to mention, Special servers have better newbie welcome items. Both servers are very active and have a lot of events.
This guide will be written for all servers. I will focus on core game’s mechanics and tips that are applicable to all servers. I will also provide server specific tips and tricks where necessary.
